Back to the blog

Life is a busy thing and it has kept me away from my blog for a while now.  Not in an awful way you understand.  Yes the day job has been hectic and demanding of late, but socially it’s all been rather full on too.  People are starting to mention the C word and festivities are being planned… Busy, busy, busy.

This has meant that I haven’t written anything I wanted to share in the last month, but I have been engaged in reading some of those things I have already written.

One of those things was a poem I entered in a local writing competition.  The poem actually won the poetry section of the competition and as a result I stood in front of an audience last weekend and read it aloud.  No one threw rotten tomatoes and some people even said nice things, so it appears I got away with it.

As part of the prize my poem is also published in a new anthology combining the winners and runners up of the competition.  My ego last weekend hung about like a big fat cat that just got back from the dairy.  It felt good.

‘View of the sea’ my competition winning poem, will be up on the blog later this week.  In the meantime I hope you are all well and your creative journeys are taking you to good places.
